So yesterday was Positively Tuesday, is this Negatively Wednesday?
Five things that are bugging me today
1. To the dude that has called my cell phone near daily for a week “NO! This is not Juan Jose’s Lunch-Wagon!” And why are you calling for a lunch-wagon at 5:43am anyway?
2. I read a gazillion blogs a day and it really bugs me when people fight over being the first to leave a comment. Especially the ones that go something like this “ha ha! FIRST!!!!! Now I am going to go read this post”. It Really Really bothers me that some housewife is getting up at the crack of Maynard to be the first to leave a comment on someones blog… AND then telling everyone that they were not up that early to read the person’s blog but merely to beat everyone else to the comment box. If I ever get more than 2.6 readers… please don’t fight over who is first to leave a comment - you’ll be banned from my blog for life+ 26 days.
3. My dog chose 4:03am to obnoxiously chew the life out of her rawhide…on the metal threshold of my backdoor which is directly out my bedroom window. The sound was a combination of industrial aluminum banging and slobbery grunting.
4. I watched The Mist…. let me ruin it for you in the end the dad thinks the world is ending and mercy kills his son to avoid him having to be eaten by aliens from another dimension and then without a bullet to end his own life tries to lure the aliens to eat him and instead gets rescued by the army…. I am boycotting Stephen King from now on.
5. This wind is the bane of my existance… I am itchy, scratchy, sneezy, sleepy and grumpy and all the other drawrfs!
Five Positive Things About Today
1. I got to go to the zoo today and see this crazy monkey
2. This is not going to make sense to very many people but after 12 years of putting it off, I finally re-took my Math assessment test at Delta and scored a 2 which means I can finally take something other than Math for Retards.
3. My son is a fly white boy and can dance like crazy (also see my first post for today) Here he is dancing to Pour Some Sugar on Me by Def Leppard… at the end he says “I need a dwink!”
4. I did three loads of laundry today!!! No, you don’t understand, this is a really, really positive thing for me.
5. I obviously figured out how to post videos on here 
Luke discovered his love for dancing at my cousin’s wedding this weekend. Here he is Risky Business style dancing to Old Time Rock and Roll - You should click on it twice to open it in a new window and turn off the lights in the room and play it full screen because it is very dark… oh, and be sure to watch for the knee slide at the end!

In addition to tending to my dog and reading a novel for my Eng. class, I started some new projects! Here are my new pots waiting for handles and ribbon. When they are done, they will be for sale in the shop.
and some file folders to foo foo up so I actually WANT to file my papers.
I spent hours looking for the pink slip to my car the other day and had to come up with a file system that worked. I saw this post on Lost Button Studio and decided to make my own variation. She used darling punches to shape her paper but punches aren’t in my budget right now. I got a Dymo ”Label Buddy” from Wal-Mart ($5.00) and I am going to put the names on the file like that.
It’s not that I don’t have a filing system now - I have a very organized file cabinet - but, I had taken my birth certificate and pink slip out to do some paperwork and stashed them together in a drawer when I got back from my appointment. I am creating this new filing system to have a place to put things I am currently working on and other items that need to be attended to right away. If I had this file box earlier, my pink slip and birth certificate would have been in the cute little file labeled “put away”. We also got a fire safe box and now are keeping all the important stuff in there. It’s nice to get organized!

Five positive things about today
1. I didn’t kill my dog! She recovered from the snail bait and is 100% again. This is her last Friday.
2. I actually have money in my checking AND savings accounts!
3. I got the keys for the cabin and we’re going to Tahoe for the weekend.
4. I saved $99.00 on my car insurance (and I didn’t even have to switch to Geico!)
5. One final down, two to go and I am done with school for a month!

A week ago Aaron and I planted about 32 peat pots containing over 100 pumpkin seedlings in the backyard. I immediately put down my dog safe snail bait and every day was shocked to find that my little seedlings were still getting eaten! Yesterday I went to Wal-Mart and got the Cory’s nasty “black death” snail bait and said to myself “I’ll just put a little ring around each plant. The dogs wont get into it, it smells horrible and I have used it before with no problems…” Well about 4 hours later we had a problem. Our new dog Jersey either got the snail bait on her paw and licked it off or just ate a chunk of it. Around 10pm we went out to say goodnight to the dogs (a nightly ritual) and Jersey was panting like crazy like we were in the Sahara Desert. Then we noticed she was twitching and her leg kept giving out. I immediately knew what happened to her and started to cry “It’s my fault! It’s the snail bait!” As I was calling the emergency vet in Stockton I Googled “dog ate snail bait” and found that they go into seizures and overheat and basically fry their brain. The website affectionately called it “shake and bake” - nice. If left untreated she would die. Since I now knew it was the heat that would get her, I cranked up the AC in the car and we rushed her to Stockton (20 minute drive). We were all shivering when we got their but the Dr’s said her temp was already 108! They packed ice on her and wet towels to cool her off and hooked her up to an IV. She spent the night and will be ok but still is having tremors this morning and has to spend the day at her regular vet.
After we got back last night (around midnight) Aaron and I went out to scrape up all the snail bait and flush the beds we also pulled about 200 slugs from the area. According to the Internet (now proved fallible) slugs don’t like pumpkin vines… WRONG! This morning I got up and armed with a salt shaker annihilated more slugs… I want to blame those slimy demons for this horrific event but deep down I know it was my fault.
Please let my HUGE $800.00 mistake be a lesson to everyone!
By the way - Snail bait is “flavored” with molasses and tastes GREAT to dogs (and slugs)
Five Positive Thoughts for Today
1. A nice little birdy pooped strawberry seeds in my backyard and now I have these! Notice the one stem missing the berry…yeah I couldn’t even wait to take the picture.
2. I am only 11 days away from the end of this semester of school!
3. MOMents last night was SO FUN!

4. My dogs are the best dogs ever… they are sleeping next to me on their pillow… so cute, see…
5. My house is always clean the first Tuesday of the month

As if I didn’t have enough to do this weekend, Aaron and I decided to do some crafts. Actually, I have to give Aaron all the credit here, it was his idea to finally get these signs made. One for MOMents and one for my laundry room. Here’s what we did:
Step 1. Measure the lettering and cut the board (precut at Lowes) to make two signs.
Step 2. Paint the wood.
For the small plaque, I used Folk Art by Plaid “#954 Fresh Foliage” as a base coat. I then spray painted a top coat of Krylon “Ivy Leaf” on top. and sanded the board to look “weathered”.
On the large board, Aaron used Kilz “Bright White”. All paints were from Wal-Mart.
Step 3. Apply vinyl lettering
Step 4. I tea stained the large Moments plaque with Valspar Translucent Glaze in “Raw Umber” (Lowes)
